Carolyn graduated from Rhodes College with a B.A. in Business Administration and a B.S. in Biology. She then obtained her Masters of Science in Accounting from Southern Methodist University in 2006. She obtained her CPA license in 2007.
Carolyn began her career in 2006 at PricewaterhouseCoopers Dallas, working on a variety of clients but mainly focused on large public company audits in the consumer and industrial product sector and the healthcare sector. She then attended an Accounting PhD program in South Carolina and went on to teach intermediate accounting at Miami University in Ohio as a visiting professor. As an assistant professor at Saint Louis University, Carolyn taught introduction to financial accounting and advanced auditing classes, as well as a CPE review course.
Carolyn decided to leave academia and return to public accounting, working for PwC Nashville from 2018 to 2022. Her main clients were in the technology sector, one an established large public company, the other amid-size company taken from private to public. However, her work was varied to include an electric company audit subject to GASB, employee benefit audits, manufacturing company audits, and more.
Carolyn began her career at Hext Financial Group in November 2022.
Carolyn is a member of the TSBPA (Texas State Board of Public Accountants) and AICPA (American Institute of Certified Public Accountants).
